    Construction Products, the new European Regulation applies from 8 January 2026

    The new Regulation No. 2024/3110/EU establishing harmonized rules for the marketing of construction products and applies from 8 January 2026. The Regulation provides the maximization of the reuse or recyclability of the construction works, partially or entirely, and their materials after dismantling or demolition, and the facilitation of dismantling.

    Packaging Regulation in force from February, 11 2025: a push for recycled content

    The PPWR is the key document for all European and national legislation concerning packaging and applies from August 2026.
    Among the many new regulatory provisions, the obligation for recyclable packaging with a minimum recycled content is one of the most prominent.

    Ecodesign Regulation: what it mandates for Recycled Content

    The Ecodesign Regulation promotes requirements for the recycled content in sustainable products. The Regulation applies to any physical good placed on the market (the so-called product) with the exception of food, feed, medicinal products, plants, (live) animals, and vehicles.

    EPR System for Textiles and Recycled Content in the Amendment to the Waste Directive

    The new Directive 2025/1892 provides for the introduction of an extended producer responsibility scheme for textile products, under which Member States must ensure that producers assume extended responsibility for textile products, products similar to textiles, and footwear (including mattresses).

    The CSRD requires large undertakings and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to include in their management report the information necessary to understand the undertaking’s impact on sustainability matters, as well as the information necessary to understand how “sustainability matters” affect the undertaking’s development, performance, and position.

    The Regulation proposal approved establishes that, within six years of the Regulation’s entry into force, the plastic contained in each new type-approved vehicle must consist of at least 20% recycled plastic.

    Also for batteries, recycled content is mandatory

    From 18 August 2028, industrial batteries with a capacity greater than 2 kWh (excluding those with exclusively external storage), electric vehicle batteries, and automotive batteries whose active materials contain cobalt, lead, lithium, or nickel must be accompanied by documentation containing information on the percentage of cobalt, lithium, or nickel present in the active materials and recovered from battery manufacturing waste or post-consumer waste.
