Release of ReMade labels: new procedures and timelines

News

ReMade labels allow certified companies to clearly and reliably communicate the recycled material content of their products. To ensure the accuracy of the information and consistency in communication, the ReMade Foundation follows a defined procedure for the issuance of labels.

Below are the main steps and the expected timelines.

1. Submission of the certificate

The label issuance process begins once the certification procedure has been completed.

  • The certification body sends the certificate to the certified company.
  • At the same time, the same certificate is also sent to the ReMade Foundation.

This step is necessary so that the Foundation can officially verify that the certification has been issued.

2. Request for labels

Once the certificate has been received, the company may request the issuance of the labels.

The request must be sent by email to the ReMade Foundation at the following address: info@remade.it

3. Documentation verification

Before proceeding with the issuance of the labels, the ReMade Foundation verifies that it has also received the certificate directly from the certification body.

Once this verification has been completed, the Foundation confirms acceptance of the request and informs the company of the expected timelines for the issuance of the labels, depending on the type requested.

4. New label issuance timelines

The timelines vary depending on the type of label.

Essential and Compact labels

  • Issuance time: 15 working days per label type.
  • If a company requests both types (Essential and Compact), the total expected time is 30 working days.

Extended labels

  • Issuance time: 30 working days.
  • This timeframe is required because the preparation of the extended label includes the calculation of avoided environmental impacts, an activity that requires a more in-depth analysis of the data.

5. Certificates with a high-number of products

If a certificate includes more than 20 certified products, in order to ensure a more efficient management of the process:

  • labels will be issued by product family.

In specific cases, different arrangements may be agreed with the ReMade Foundation; however, this may result in longer issuance times.
