Certification
Accredited certification for recycled content
An environmental product certification under accreditation, owned by the ReMade Foundation, which enables a company to declare the content of recycled materials and byproducts – expressed as a percentage – within a material, semi-finished product, or finished product.
Any product made from any material can be ReMade certified, provided it contains a certain percentage of recycled material, recovered material, or internal or external byproducts. Products made from multiple materials can also be certified.
ReMade certificates express the highest level of attention by manufacturers in managing materials derived from waste or byproducts. ReMade-certified products are, in every respect, circular economy products – reliable, traceable, and innovative.
Here’s why to choose ReMade Certification
Holding ReMade certification offers tangible benefits to the company, including compliance of the material/product with the Minimum environmental criteria, as well as incentives and tax relief for certified products.
The scheme was developed by an open, independent, non-profit organization that brings together companies, public administrations, consortia, and associations, and is active in promoting the circular economy and Green Public Procurement.
The scheme is accredited by Accredia, the national accreditation body, which ensures the competence and impartiality of the certification bodies and auditors carrying out the assessments.
How to get certified
The product must be made, in whole or in part, from materials derived from waste recycling or from byproducts. The certification applies to any sector, any material, and also to products composed of multiple materials. Please refer to the ReMade Technical Standards to learn about all the requirements and prescriptions you must comply with.
ReMade certification is accredited and open to the market: audits are carried out by third-party Conformity Assessment Bodies authorized to issue the certification. Contact one of the accredited Conformity Assessment Bodies to receive a quote for timelines and costs, or fill in the form and we will arrange for a quotation on your behalf.
You may find it useful to engage a Consultant to support you in preparing the documentation and fulfilling the other required obligations. Please consult the Register of Qualified Consultants to work with a professional who has completed our training courses.
The assessment includes a documentary phase, during which the documentation required by the Technical Standards is submitted to the Conformity Assessment Body, and an on-site phase, carried out in the presence of the appointed auditor. The timelines for issuing the certificate may vary and depend on the company’s level of preparedness; please contact the assigned Conformity Assessment Body for further information.
ReMade certification is accredited, recognized by the MEC (Minimum Environmental Criteria), required in tender procedures, and also useful for accessing tax incentives. Request the label from the ReMade Foundation and apply it to your products and informational materials for effective communication focused on sustainability and the circular economy.
